Error when importing #Picklist- #Employee Central #Picklists error#optionid

Scenario:we are trying to append a new entry in the drop down list aka picklist

Best practice is always export the pick list

now when we try to import the updated picklist,The system throws the below error message when importing the pick list.Error in communicating with server.OptionID

Root Cause for the error is the number used in the excel template :The optionid need to be left blank when importing after making the necessary addition.

now if we export we will see the added entry in the excel
